M(a)nic Monday: Building the Garden

We bought a garden! Well, we bought seeds and some dirt, lots of seeds, over 1,000 seeds. I think we’re replacing out lawn with a maze of kale, snap peas, peppers, and tomatoes.

Seriously, though we bought over 1,000 individual seeds. Danielle and I were kids in a candy shop picking out seeds to try to grow. We’re still not sure 100% sure the plan, but we do know we have enough vegetables that we will probably be running a two or three heat growing season. Hopefully, by the end of the year, we will have more than we know what to do with.

We will be putting some plants in the backyard as a traditional garden and some in planters on our front porch, but we’ve even been toying with re-doing some of our landscaping with vegetable plants. Danielle has more of the vision than I but if all goes to plan, we will be ripping out a lot of rocks and furnishing our yard with a sea of food.

Just another project for the house, but we’re excited.

About Danielle Beranek

Life can get away from you when being young, married, and still fairly fresh out of college. Taking on a pet, student loans, going back to school, and soon a new house is enough to leave ones head spinning. For me, life is crazy, but only on the outside.
