Christmas Eve: Family-ed Out Already

Merry Christmas Eve, Everyone! In this house, that means figuring out how we plan to spend our Christmas. With families on crazy schedules this year, we don’t have any plans for actual Christmas this year, so that means hot cocoa and hanging out with just our little family. However, this month is just crazy with family. Since Thanksgiving, we have had some family event every weekend.

First, we had Thanksgiving with my family on Thanksgiving and the next weekend we helped LD’s dad clear out his new house in order to move in (you know things that happen when you buy a family member’s house). The next weekend we had a Hanukah celebration/gift exchange with my family. This past weekend we had LD’s cousin’s graduation. Now we have Christmas and a pasta dinner tonight with LD’s family. And, on January 3rd we will have Christmas with LD’s other side of the family.

I am family-ed out already. Is this what married life is like? I try to keep things separated and have one family for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas but things always seem to blow up into something like this. Does anyone have any advice? I am so grateful to just have tomorrow with LD and the pups, but I seriously think I will just sleep all day.

About Danielle Beranek

Life can get away from you when being young, married, and still fairly fresh out of college. Taking on a pet, student loans, going back to school, and soon a new house is enough to leave ones head spinning. For me, life is crazy, but only on the outside.
