Tasha (and Arccos) Tuesday: Meet Arccos

Well, it looks like Tasha Tuesdays will be changing as well because we have a new addition to our little family. Everyone, meet Arccos!

Although he looks very much like a puppy, he is actually a full grown 5 year old Manchester Terrier. So far, he is very much a little mama’s boy and looks to me for assurance on a lot of things. As he gets more comfortable, he seems to need me less and less, although that’s not to say he doesn’t want me to give him attention all….the….time. He is a lot calmer of a dog than Tasha and that seems to for the moment calm her down a bit. Don’t worry though, he can keep up with her. He is nearly as smart as she is and has learned several new commands in a few days: down, go lay down, go to bed, off, and go to daddy. He hasn’t learned go to mommy yet because he is often by my side or on his way anyway.

LD and I had been talking about getting a second dog for a while, partially because Tasha does really well with having an example for how to behave in certain situations, and partly because there are so many rescue dogs that need good homes. Also, Tasha is very much a daddy’s girl and I wanted some love as well.

Arccos fits into our family perfectly and he and Tasha get along about as well as you could hope for considering they’ve only been together for 3 days. Yes, Tasha does get a little jealous about having to share the attention, but they love to play together and just last night they figured out how much they both like to cuddle:

And, with all the thinking going on around here, because Tasha is learning to take turns and Arccos is learning the rules of the house. By the end of the day, they are both just passed out.

About Danielle Beranek

Life can get away from you when being young, married, and still fairly fresh out of college. Taking on a pet, student loans, going back to school, and soon a new house is enough to leave ones head spinning. For me, life is crazy, but only on the outside.
